"Alexander McQueen, et ou"

One of the many great things about living in this city is the sheer amount of fashionable diversity there is (actually, diversity in general!) From the department stores right down to the streets, the selection is enough to make any wallet tremble in fear. And let's not even get started on the designer trunk shows and sample sales. If you know what's what, you'll probably be able to at least find one or the other (or both) every week!

To celebrate the weekend (because really, every weekend is an occasion calling for festive activities, no?), my friend Viktoria and I decided to hit up the stores along Queen Street West. More specifically, we made a beeline for an amazing vintage store called Remix Clothing for the Carlie Wong sample sale. Off the bat, I didn't recognize who she was, but figured it was worth a look since the Toronto twitter community was buzzing with excitement. Looking on her site, I found some stunning pieces and, to my great happiness, discovered that she had branched out into menswear! Structured. Edgy. Glamourous. Basically everything I look for in the clothes that I wear! Unfortunately, even with sample sale prices, this boy still could not afford to drop $500 on an amazing trench, and other items. Look below for a picture of the designer, who was also a contestant on the first season of Project Runway Canada, and our favourite looks from her most recent collection!

Aside from the sample sale, though, Vik and I perused around the store and found some really amazing (if you hadn't noticed, this word has a recurring theme throughout this post) pieces, pieces that I recognized from magazine fashion spreads and runway shows - right before our eyes! In lieu of the moment, I basically forced her to try on a few items, including some Alexander McQueens (above) and two Balmain blazers. It's DEFINITELY a place that we'll be coming back to in the future! All in all, a great start to the weekend!
