Jonathan Saunders Spring 2013

Can we just discuss this look from Jonathan Saunders' Spring 2013 Men's collection?

My feelings for this stunning trench can be summed up in three simple words: NEED. NEED. NEED!

Take a look at the rest of the collection after the jump.

Earlier this year, Scottish designer Jonathan Saunders was named the winner of the BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund, beating out industry heavy-hitters like Mary Kantrantzou and Nicholas Kirkwood for the £200, 000 cash prize. I can see that the money was put to good use as Saunders, best known for his bold use of print and colour, presented his Spring 2012 menswear collection.

What I love about Saunders is that he gives men the ability to have fun with their attire, allowing them to experiment with different colour palettes and design. This collection showcased an array of geometric patterns in colourful hues, making for a futuristic marriage of sophistication and playfulness. Save for perhaps the patterned suit (which I completely adore), all of the clothes presented in this collection are pieces that the every day man should have no problem incorporating into his own wardrobe. Saunders finds a way to infuse a unique sensibility into practical design and silhouettes, making for a beautifully smart way of marketing his collection to a diverse range of individuals.
