The Best of the London Collections SS13

England is very much known as a fashion capital in the world, but what I love most about its fashion scene is its incredible support and cultivation of new talent. I often find that it's a place where we can truly find unique and innovative design as many emerging designers try to carve out their own place in the industry. Home to the prestigious Central St. Martins College of Art and Design and iconic designers like Alexander McQueen, John Galliano, Christopher Bailey and more, British fashion has had a resounding impact on the industry and continues to do so every season.

Hosting its first week dedicated solely to men's fashion (win for the boys!), I've rounded up my favourites from the jam packed week. Highlights would definitely be Jonathan Saunders and Xander Zhou, but take a look for yourself and let me know what you think!

CHRISTOPHER RAEBURN

CHRISTOPHER SHANNON
Loved the fringe details in this collection.

E. TAUTZ
Great colour!

J.W. ANDERSON
Bold prints and the elegance of the shawl collar suits, done in almost a draped manner.

JAMES LONG
There seems to be a lot of futuristic type prints and patterns this year in men's fashion. I love the combination of the gold accents and random, eccentricity.

JONATHAN SAUNDERS
Completely stunning. Known for his creative use of bold prints and patterns, Saunders just seems to get better and better with every season. From the beehive geometrics to the bold use of pinstripes, I love everything about this collection, especially that last trench coat!

LOU DALTON
Clean and simple, sometimes that's all you need.

MATTHEW MILLER

PRINGLE OF SCOTLAND

RICHARD JAMES
Don't you love the colour of these suits??

SHAUN SAMSON
Really cool metallics on this one.

TOPMAN
Love me some good ol' perforation.

XANDER ZHOU
Zhou's use of proportion and texture on the male silhouette is really what drew my interest. There's a little bit of Jean Paul Gaultier here and Yves Saint Laurent there, but most of all, a collection that has communicated Zhou's own unique aesthetic as a truly talented designer. Definitely looking forward to seeing what this guy has to bring in the future.
