My friend, Brittanee, and I took part in a merchandising showcase for Goodwill Industries, where individuals pulled looks to create a window display for the company. In addition, the showcase was also to promote Goodwill’s upcoming role as official sponsor of the Emerging Stylist Competition for Spring/Summer 2011 Western Canada Fashion Week.
The outfit we pulled together was a black and white dress, completed with a tweed jacket and bold statement necklace. The print on the dress created a slimming illusion that we thought would look flattering on any shape or size. The woman we envisioned for this outfit was one that was sophisticated, classy, and took pride in showing the world the best she had to offer.
Goodwill, however, is not just a store for apparel, and with the great selection that we had to work with, we decided to create an environment around our “model” to enhance its showcasing effect, complete with a picture frame, wicker swan, jewelry, and more!
